MEN’S COAT Loose-fitting, straight, lined coat, below hip or below mid-knee, has self or contrast notched collar, shoulder pads, front extending to side back (no side seams), inside buttonhole pockets and long, two-piece sleeves with mock vent and button trim. A: welt pockets. B,C: upper welt pocket, lower pocket with flaps and welts, and back hemline vent.
NOTIONS: Coat A,B,C: 1/2" (13mm) Shoulder Pads or Vogue #8817, 1/8" (28mm) Buttons; Nine for A, Seven for B, Three for C and 1/2" (13mm) Twill Tape; 11/4 yds. (1.2m) for A,B and 1 yd. (1.0m) for C. Also for B,C: Six 5/8" (15mm) Buttons.
FABRICS: Coat A,B,C: Wool Flannel, Tweeds and Camel Hair. Contrast Collar: Velveteen and Flannel. Unsuitable for obvious diagonals, plaids or stripes. Use nap yardages/layouts for pile, shaded or one-way design fabrics. * with nap. ** w/o nap.
